"Look at you, you lot have a baby … in a bar!" Sweet Home Alabama's Lurlynn may have raised eyebrows bringing her newborn to the local pub, just Melanie Lynskey would become on to do the same years after.

"I think that I have, yes!" the extra, 44, exclusively told Us Weekly. "I think I brought my daughter to a bar."
Lynskey'south daughter, 2, whom she shares with partner Jason Ritter, tagged forth with the actress to her Lady of the Estate wrap party. The Togetherness alum shot the Justin Long-directed supernatural one-act — alongside Judy Greer and Ryan Phillippe — in Florida right earlier the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.
"Nosotros had this sort of crew party through filming, and it was at a bar," she explained. "Yeah, she was at that place at the bar!"
Lynskey appeared in 2002's Sweet Abode Alabama with Reese Witherspoon, Josh Lucas, Patrick Dempsey, Jean Smart, Candice Bergen, Ethan Embry, Mary Kay Place and Fred Ward. When Melanie Smooter (Witherspoon) returns home to force ex Jake (Lucas) to sign their divorce papers, she reunites with Lurlynn and more childhood friends.
Louisiana native Witherspoon, 45, wanted to make sure Lynskey'south southern twang was as accurate every bit possible at the fourth dimension.
"I remember early on Reese telling me that my accent had better be good. She's similar, 'I'1000 from the southward.' And not similar in a nasty mode. She just was similar, 'You know, you got to get it right considering it's very specific.' And I was similar, 'I think I've gotten information technology correct, simply I really hope and then,'" Lynskey recalled to Us. "She really cared about things beingness authentic and she approved of my accent once I did information technology. She was like, 'Good job.'"

The Castle Rock alum went on to rave about her former costar. "I love Reese. I'thou and then impressed past her equally a human, existence, the piece of work that she does as an advocate for children, the person she is, the mode she is uplifting other women and making women's stories told, her production company [Hello Sunshine] is just incredible," she continued. "The books she's optioning. I'm just like, I — already at that point in time, twenty years ago — I was similar, 'This is a woman to watch.' She'south only such a strong person who has just always been and so fully herself and she hasn't had a misstep. Her career has simply been going [up and up] for all these years. And who does that? Information technology's incredible."
The cast ofttimes bonded while filming. When they weren't dancing to country music onscreen, they were throwing parties one time the cameras stopped.
"On the weekends we would all assemble and have parties and melt together and hang out together. It was a really fun group. Anybody really liked each other," the YellowJackets star told Us. "We had some pretty crazy parties on that flick. A hotel room in Atlanta merely playing games with each other. Information technology was a very fun prepare."
Dorsum in July, Witherspoon fueled speculation about a possible sequel when she and Dakota Fanning reminisced over the romantic comedy via Instagram. (Fanning played a young Melanie in the film.) However, Lucas, 50, thinks Witherspoon's busy schedule might injure the chances of reuniting the bandage.

"Await, I would dear to exercise the sequel. The effect is Reese's got a book club," he quipped during an appearance on SiriusXM's Popular Culture Spotlight With Jessica Shaw that same month. "And I'm proverb that, like, laughingly, but Reese is, you know, I've heard like, 'Oh, y'all can talk to her about stuff five years from now.' Yous know, she'southward a mogul. And back when I was doing Sugariness Habitation Alabama, I, for some reason, retrieve telling the director or somebody speaking near her, but I said, 'I bet this woman ends upwards running a movie studio one solar day.'
